How counselling helps:
Counselling can help you overcome problems such as depression, anxiety and low self-esteem. It can give you new perspectives on relationships, help break destructive patterns and enable you to find ways of coping with loss.
Counselling sessions offer a unique, personal space in which you can express yourself openly and be helped to find new possibilities. Through awareness and acceptance, my aim is to support you in becoming more who you want to be. I employ a creative approach which may include use of visualisation, drawing and use of symbols, as well as talking and reflecting on what brings you to counselling.
What you might want to address:
Counselling offers a safe, confidential space for what you wish to bring. Issues clients have brought to me include:
I practice in the Newington/Southside area of Edinburgh. I also offer online and telephone sessions.
My practice is on the third floor of a tenement building so access requires climbing three flights of stairs.
How long will it take?
Sessions are 50 minutes long and usually take place weekly, at the same time each week.
How many sessions we work for will vary. Sometimes six to twelve sessions can make a big difference. Many people choose or need to work for longer. Depending on your situation we can agree at the outset to work for a certain number of sessions, and review our progress as we go along.
How much does it cost?
My fee is £50 per session.
I have a cat who may join us for sessions if you and she would like. She is low shedding but may still cause allergies if this is something you suffer. If you prefer her not to be in the room just let me know.
