We all want to give our children the best possible start in life but it's not alway easy.
My approach is creative and client-centred, offering children and young people a space in which to express their thoughts and feelings through art, play and discussion.
Where difficulties can impede a child or young person's emotional, social and academic development, counselling supports them to form positive friendships, concentrate in an educational setting and thrive as individuals.
I've worked with children and young people who have struggled with various life events and experiences including:
Illness and time in hospital
Disability, feeling different from peers
Lack of self-esteem, insecurity
Difficulty managing emotions, including upset, anger and frustration
Difficulties getting on with peers, bullying others or being bullied
Self-harming behaviour and suicidal thoughts
Depression
Domestic violence and parental substance use
Refugee experiences, witnessing war and moving countries
Bereavement and loss
